Giorgios Kontogiannis

Giorgos Kontogiannis plays lyra and traditional percussions.

He is a graduate of the Music Secondary School, where he was taught traditional and western music performance and theory.
He studied lyra and Ottoman music with the established multi - instrumentalist and educator Ross Daly within the workshop Labyrinth.

Moreover, Giorgos is trained in advanced western music theory.
He has been teaching lyra and other traditional string instruments to students of various levels for over ten years.

Giorgos is a founding member of the group "Mat se dyo Yfesis" which has released four records and he has performed in numerous festivals in Greece and abroad, alongside important musicians in Athens including Haig Yazdjian, Loudovikos ton Anogeion and Nikos Grapsas.

For Euterpe Project he performed in Belgrade with Belo Platno.
